Together we build homes, communities and hope.
Corpus Christi Habitat unites the community with people in need to provide the life-changing opportunity to purchase and own simple, quality, affordable homes. Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
Research shows that our homeownership program leads to benefits beyond housing, including improved mental health, a decreased reliance on social services, and improved academic achievement of children. Learn more about the impacts of our work.
We offer a hand up, not a hand out.
Prospective homeowners go through an extensive interview and selection process. The selection committee considers present housing conditions and income. Home visits and credit checks are conducted. When a family is selected, they are required to contribute 300 – 500 hours of “sweat equity”. These hours are earned in construction, ReStore, fundraising, office work, and other areas of need.
Habitat for Humanity Corpus Christi finances these homes, providing 25-30 year interest-free mortgages.
Our funding partners are individuals, churches, businesses, foundations, community organizations, and financial institutions.
