FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 12, 2023

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (April 12, 2023) – Habitat for Humanity Corpus Christi, Inc. (HFHCC) has been awarded $50,000 from the Coastal Bend Community Foundation’s (CBCF) John and Augusta Doan Charitable Advised Fund. The funding from this continued partnership will support affordable housing construction for low-income families and individuals in need.

Habitat for Humanity Corpus Christi’s Homeownership program focuses on safe, affordable, and accessible housing. Qualifying Habitat partners purchase their home at cost and pay the purchase price back over a 30-year period with no interest. These monthly payments create a sustainable funding source and are reinvested into helping build more homes for other families in need. Homeowners must complete 300 sweat equity hours before moving in, as the program is designed to be a hand-up, not a hand-out.
